Meeting adjourned as mark of respect following recent deaths

May they rest in peace.

The October meeting of Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District was adjourned early as a mark of respect to two families who recently suffered bereavements.

Chairing the meeting on Wednesday last, Cllr Damien Ryan extended deepest sympathy to the families of Susan Canny, Convent Road, Claremorris and originally from Drum, Knock, and Lily Slattery, Drum, Knock, on behalf of the MD, following their untimely deaths.

Cllr Richard Finn thanked Cllr Ryan for the kind words which he said would be accepted by the families on behalf of all councillors wanting to express sympathy, adding that there is deep sadness as a result of the deaths.

It was agreed that just the business of the agenda would be dealt with and that the meeting would conclude at 11.30am as a mark of respect, which duly occurred.
