On Friday, October 10, Ballinrobe GAA Club chairperson John Sweeney presented Marguerite Golden with her Ballinrobe GAA Club lotto jackpot prize cheque of €28,900. The presentation took place in the new gym at Flanagan Park. Ballinrobe GAA Club would like to congratulate Marguerite on her win.
Auditions Ballinrobe Musical Society will be holding auditions for principal characters for their production of Michael Collins - A Musical Drama, in the Ballinrobe Parish Centre on Sunday, November 30. The show will feature many characters based on real historical figures including Collins himself, Éamon de Valera, Kitty Kiernan and Harry Boland.
Described as 'The Irish Lés Misérables', Michael Collins - A Musical Drama charts Michael Collins' life from the 1916 Rising through to the Irish Civil War.
The score, written by the late Bryan Flynn, features a number of rousing numbers, including 'Every Heart Awaken' and 'Fly The Flag of Freedom'.

Ballinrobe Musical Society will stage Michael Collins - A Musical Drama from Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, to Saturday, April 11, in Ballinrobe Community School.
Last month 42 members of the Ballinrobe Active Retirement Association travelled for a short break to Newry, Co Down. The group stayed at the Canal Court Hotel, where they enjoyed a wonderful stay. During their getaway, the Ballinrobe group visited various locations including the Titanic Museum and the Mountains of Mourne. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable break for the group.
On Monday, September 29, the Ballinrobe Active Retirement Association held a fundraising coffee morning in aid of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation at the Parish Centre, Ballinrobe. Music on the morning was provided by Annette Griffin and John Staunton. Over €1,000 was raised and the association thank everyone who supported this fundraiser.

Badminton for primary school children aged 7-12 takes place every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the Lakeside Sport and Fitness Centre, Station Road. The Tacú Family Resource Centre, Ballinrobe, is organising plenty of Halloween activities on October 24, from 5 to 7pm. The events include a mystery and magic show at 6.15pm, shop window terror trail, spooky town parade with a fire thrower, a disco, and a fun science workshop. Parents should note that the science workshop must be booked in advance and is for children aged 6 and over, with the following time slots available, 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm and 6.30pm. Meals on Wheels are hot meals delivered to individuals at home (either on a temporary or long term basis). Meals on wheels can make your life easier. This service covers Ballinrobe and the Lake District area. Deliveries take place on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s and consist of soup, main meal and dessert. People can also avail of two meals on Monday’s and Thursday’s.

A new craft workshop class will commence in the Kilmaine Community Centre on Tuesday, October 28 and will take place every Tuesday for six to eight weeks. This craft workshop is ideal for those wishing to learn how to knit, crochet, or improve their skills one stitch at a time. Indoor soccer for children aged 6-14 will commence in the Kilmaine Community Centre on Friday, October 24, with indoor soccer for the same age group also taking place at the venue on Saturday, October 25. Parents wishing to register their children for indoor soccer can do so tonight (Tuesday) in meeting room 1 in the Kilmaine Centre from 7 to 8pm. The registration fee is €20 per-child.
