Woman in critical condition after two-car collision in Co Limerick

Gardaí are investigating after a woman was critically injured following a two-car road traffic collision in Co Limerick, earlier today, Thursday.
The woman was driving along the R512, situated between the towns of Bruff and Kilmallock, when her car was in a collision with another car driven by a man.
The woman was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) where she was fighting for her life.
The male driver suffered injuries but was in a stable condition in hospital.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at 2.45pm, at Uregare Cross, Bruff, Co. Limerick.”
“A male driver of vehicle 1 (aged in his 50s) was brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
“A female driver of vehicle 2 (aged in her 60s) was brought to University Hospital Limerick where she remains in critical condition.”
The spokesman said Garda investigations were “ongoing”.
