Funny and heartbreaking play comes to Westport

The promotional poster for CLASS, which comes to Westport Town Hall Theatre on February 1st.

Glenamaddy Players are back in Westport with their new touring production of CLASS by Iseult Golden and David Horan.

It will be staged in Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, February 1st, with the curtain up at 8pm.

A parent-teacher meeting goes very wrong in CLASS, a new play about learning difficulties: in school, in life, wherever.

Brian and Donna’s son is nine years old, and he’s struggling. That’s what his teacher says. Says he should see a psychologist. But Brian and Donna – recently separated – never liked school, never liked teachers. So are they going to trust this one? And should they?

CLASS is an explosive triple confrontation in a classroom over learning difficulties, love and entitlement. Funny, heart breaking and beautifully observed, with rave reviews and a sold-out run at the Abbey Theatre, CLASS is new Irish writing at its finest.

CLASS by Iseult Golden and David Horan was the hit of the Dublin Theatre Festival 2017 and was then invited to play on the Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre in January 2018 before transferring to the Galway International Arts Festival and the Traverse Edinburgh Fringe in the Summer of 2018. The show sold out before opening in Dublin and Galway and has had an extraordinary response from audiences and critics alike wherever it plays.

This is a play not to be missed!

Tickets €18/€16 available from westporttheatre.com, or call the box office on 098-28459.
