The Bonniconlon Show takes place this August bank holiday weekend - a day which promises to be an occasion not to be missed!
Bring family and friends to see all things agricultural on Monday, August 5, and enjoy the jam-packed programme on offer.
Based in north Mayo, on the outskirts of Ballina, the village of Bonniconlon will welcome 30,000 people through its gates for a fantastic one-day event.
There will be free parking, free buses and more to avail of during an enjoyable day out for young and old.
The show, which is the second-largest agricultural show in Ireland, offers a number of activities, including a dog show, horse and pony lunging, sheepdog trials, the All-Ireland Calf finals, and not to forget the crowning of the Rose of Bonniconlon ‘Queen of the Show.’
An exhibition of livestock, farm produce, trade stands, children's activities and live music will also be taking place on 200 acres of specially developed showgrounds.
Mike Denver will be among the special guests to perform during the highly anticipated show - he is scheduled to sing from 3pm to 5pm.
The show will also have an FMX stunt show returning this year. Local stuntman Evan Mullarkey and his team will perform amazing stunts to capture the attention of thousands.
On their website, the show said: “Months of planning and organising have ensured that year after year, Bonniconlon Agricultural Show & Gymkhana not only proves every bit as successful as in the previous 12 months - but also develops and improves what the event has on offer.
“Putting it simply, after over 60 years of hard work, dedication and innovation, no other show in its category even comes close.”
Speaking ahead of this year’s show, chairman John O’Hara said: “We are gearing up well for it - there are plenty of entries and interest coming in. There will be plenty of events taking place for all to enjoy.”

O’Hara says they hope to run a bus from the cathedral in Ballina to Bonniconlon which will run throughout the day - on the hour.
He thanked the “hardworking” show committee, the local schemes and also the stewards who will come from near and far to help organise the upcoming show.
The showgrounds will be open from 8am in the morning.
