Ballina Arts Centre to host award-winning writer and performer

album

Little John Nee is an award-winning writer and performer based in the west of Ireland.

His work, which is simultaneously hilarious and heart-breaking, is a unique blend of music storytelling and theatre, which he describes as gentle punk. His latest production, Zeitgeist Jukebox, will visit Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday, March 20th. This immersive theatre experience, framed by Little John Nee’s masterful storytelling, has won both national and international recognition and has been described as a soulful antidote to the disconnection of our times, and a testament to the healing power of music.

On a night such as this, some folks meet up at an old warehouse in response to a notice on a lamppost: - an invitation to join the oddest band that ever was, in the making of the greatest album of the twenty-first century. Primitive recording equipment sits ready, and the clock ticks…it’s now or never.

Little John Nee promises "The most zeitgeist songs you ever heard, freshly made in front of you. Songs that move you, soothe you and groove you. It’s going to be brilliant and funny. If you feel so inclined, you can bring an instrument, but if you just want to sink back in your seat and disappear, nobody will say a word. Let the fun go deep."

The Bell Harbour News described Zeitgeist Jukebox as “A thing of delicate beauty’’, so book your tickets early to sit back and let this singular musical/theatrical/storytelling experience wash over you or, should the music move you, jump up and join the band.

Tickets priced €18 (Concessions €16) are available online or from the box office on 096 73593.
