What's on in Ballina: International Women's Day celebration to take place next month

Ballina Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce its fifth International Women’s Day celebration, taking place on Friday, March 7th, 2025, at the award-winning Great National Hotel Ballina at 7pm (commencing at 8pm). The event will bring together women from across the community to celebrate this year’s theme, Stronger Together.
This special evening is an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women in Ballina while nurturing connections and sharing experiences. It also aims to support a meaningful cause, with proceeds going to a chosen charity partner, which will be announced soon.
Mary Moyles, President of Ballina Chamber of Commerce, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, saying, “International Women’s Day is a moment to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in our community. This year’s theme, Stronger Together, resonates deeply with the spirit of Ballina, where we support and uplift one another. I am excited to see our community come together once again to celebrate and inspire each other.”
The evening will begin with a drink’s reception at 7:00pm, followed by an inspiring programme featuring guest speakers, entertainment, and a fashion show. Each guest will also receive a goodie bag as a token of appreciation. Special guest MCs for the night include Mayo County Council’s Cllr. Annie May Reape and social media personality Laura Nash, who will guide the evening’s events with their warmth and charisma.
Mairéad Melody Carr, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, spoke about the significance of the event, stating, “This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the incredible women who contribute so much to our vibrant community. It’s fantastic to see Ballina Chamber bring people together as always in such a meaningful way. It will be a fun, celebratory occasion for all.”
The theme of this year’s event, Stronger Together reflects a vision of unity, diversity, and support within the community. It represents a commitment to a gender-equal world, where differences are valued and celebrated.
