Mayo man to be honoured for his dedication and passion for local sports club

The Federation of Irish Sport has named Myles Cresham as County Mayo’s 2024 recipient of the Volunteers in Sport Awards. Myles will be honoured at a special awards ceremony on Friday, February 28 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown, alongside a volunteer from every county in Ireland in recognition of their dedication and passion for their local club.
Myles Cresham has been an integral part of Castlebar Boxing Club for many years, contributing in various roles such as coach, referee, and competition organiser. His commitment to the sport is reflected in his success as a coach, having mentored multiple boxers to national titles, while equally supporting boxers of all levels and abilities. Myles dedicates most of his weekends to travelling with boxers for competitions or officiating at events. His efforts have recently been recognised with his appointment as President of the Mayo Boxing Board, further solidifying his role as a leader in the boxing community. Myles also plays an active role in fundraising for the club.
