GAA club appoint All-Ireland winning manager
He takes over the club after a hugely successful time with Crossmolina.
Balla have confirmed the appointment of an All-Ireland winning club manager ahead of the 2027 season.
Brian Benson, who won an All-Ireland intermediate title with Crossmolina in 2025, will take charge of Balla, following the departure of joint manager Alan Nolan and Declan Sweeney.
The duo were in charge for four years, but stepped down following the club's relegation from the senior championship.
Benson was hugely successful with Crossmolina during his five years in charge, as following their All-Ireland triumph, they reached a semi and quarter-final. This year, their championship was ended by Garrymore.
Young players such as Kobe McDonald and Dylan Flynn were key to their success.
Following Benson's appointment, Balla said: "We look forward to working closely with Brian to continue developing adult football within our community."
