Plans revealed for Christmas in Castlebar 2025

Castlebar will host a series of Christmas Markets at Collector's Lane (next to Elverys), off Main Street, from December 18th to 21st next.
In an update to Castlebar Municipal District last week, Mayo County Council reported that a number of events and initiatives are being developed for the 'Christmas in Castlebar 2025' celebrations, commencing with the official turning on of the Christmas lights on Friday evening, November 28th.
Following the call for expressions of interest to become a stall trader at the Christmas Markets, a large number of responses were received with the successful traders set to be notified in the coming days. Among those selected is Santa Claus, who will be joining the market with his own festive stall.
The council is also partnering with Mayo Movie World to provide a selection of Outdoor Christmas Movies on December 12th, 13th and 14th, with details and booking links to be published in the coming weeks.
The council is also seeking information from other organisations of their festive events happening around the Castlebar Municipal District to bring all together as part of the 2025 Christmas in Castlebar calendar.
