COMMUNITY NOTES: CARRA - WESTERN PEOPLE (MARCH 10 EDITION)

For many years, concerned members of Errew community have discussed the dangerous state of Errew junction and brought it to the attention of various departments within the county council. There have been numerous ‘near misses’ pulling out from the junction at Errew NS due to the restricted vision of oncoming cars. The funding application was unsuccessful in 2019 but following a recent resurrection of the ‘junction campaign’, finance for the project has now been secured.

Huge congratulations to all those involved over the years who worked hard to try and improve the safety of this junction which many feared was a ‘major accident waiting to happen.’ The news of correction re-alignment works from Al McDonnell, Cathaoirleach Castlebar MD has been greatly welcomed by the community.
