Woman who died in Mayo collision yesterday morning named locally

A woman who lost her life following a collision involving a lorry in Castlebar yesterday morning has been named locally as Chris O’Donnell.
Ms O'Donnell, aged in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene at Rathbawn Road following the incident that occurred at approximately 9.55am.
The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators which is now completed and the road reopened yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 9:30am and 10:00am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
