Weapons seized and drugs located in Mayo areas

On Thursday, 26th June, the MRL Drugs Unit Mayo and the MRL Divisional Search team conducted searches in Castlebar and Ballina under the auspices of Operation Tara.
Assistance was provided by the Garda Dog Unit and the Armed Support Unit.
Three properties were searched under warrant. Several public areas suspected of being used for the storage of drugs were also searched.
A number of weapons were seized from a property in Castlebar, and cannabis with an estimated street value of €1,000 was located at a drugs hide in Ballina.
No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.
