COMMUNITY NOTES: BALLINA - WESTERN PEOPLE (MAY 6 EDITION)

Lesley Moore, who retired earlier this month as Manager of Mayo Volunteer Centre, has been wished well by Moy Valley Resources IRD, under which the centre is operated.

“While we are sad to see her leave Moy Valley Resources, we are also delighted that Lesley will now have lots of free time to live her best life yet,” said the organisation.

“Lesley has been a highly professional and effective manager who committed herself fully to her role in Mayo Volunteer Centre. Her experience and expertise added greatly to the success of Mayo Volunteer Centre over the last few years and she regularly put a smile on everyone’s face with her quick wit. We will miss you, Lesley.”

Kim Merrifield, who has worked with the Moy Valley Resources LEADER programme for a number of years, has now taken over as manager of the centre, which is based at Cathedral Road, Ballina.

Mayo Volunteer Centre helps volunteers to find roles in organisations in County Mayo that are seeking help and that best suit their individual skills, abilities and availability. It can be contacted at 096-71444 or by email at info@volunteermayo.ie.
