A Mayo musician recently became a temporary member of The Corrs.
On November 17, Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín, an accomplished instrumentalist and composer from Balla, Co. Mayo, took to the stage to fill in for a missing member of The Corrs.
The Corrs are a family band from Dundalk, Co. Louth. The Corr siblings notably combine pop rock with traditional Irish themes in their music.
When Sharon Corr was unable to perform at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Éadaoin stepped up on short notice.
“There are no words to express last night. It was an absolute dream to step in and perform with The Corrs,” Éadaoin said in a Facebook post.
“What absolute legends, thank you for trusting me and for all the kindness you showed me.
“I also appreciate all the beautiful messages I received today, my heart is full.”
Fans and friends of the musician took to the comments to express their support and awe.
A social user said: “I was very impressed at how you managed to step up at such short notice and play so well, well done!”.
Another person commented: “You deserve to be on that stage. Fair play to you for standing in. Congratulations”.
