Alternative water supplies have been made available to Uisce Éireann customers in Bonniconlon who have been impacted by a water outage this morning.
An overnight mechanical failure at the Cahra Pumping Station has led to supply outages for approximately 30 homes in the area.
Alternative water supplies, in the form of bowsers and bottled water, have been made available to affected customers this morning. These are available at two locations:
- Across the road from Bonniconlon Church.
- Beside the Bonniconlon reservoir.
Uisce Éireann teams are currently working to bring the pumping station back online, and it is estimated that supply will be restored to impacted customers by 3pm today.
Uisce Éireann acknowledges that there have been intermittent water supply disruptions in the Bonniconlon area over recent weeks and would like to thank customers for their patience while we work to resolve this issue.
Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann said every effort is being made to restore full supply as quickly as possible.
“Customers will begin to experience supply disruptions this morning as reservoir levels drop due to increased daytime supply. Our crews have identified the issue, and we expect water to be restored by this afternoon,” said Colette.
“We acknowledge that there have been ongoing supply issues in the Bonniconlon area over recent weeks. We appreciate the inconvenience that unplanned water outages can cause, and we wish to thank customers for their understanding.”
