Popular cafés in Westport and Killala have announced their closures.

Popular cafés in Westport and Killala have announced their closures.

Westport's Chilli café on Bridge Street made the announcement on their Facebook page.

“After 11 amazing years running our café, we've decided to close our doors and start a new chapter in our lives.

"Thank you for the memories, and we hope to see you soon!”

It is the second local Westport business to close in recent weeks with The Towers Bar & Restaurant closing at the end of September. The owners of the Towers are now focused on their new venture at JJ O’Malley’s on Bridge Street.

Killala's Kiosk café on Market Street has also announced that they made the ‘difficult and emotional’ decision to close the business.

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers and staff for their continued support over the last nearly 3 years since we opened our doors. We feel The Kiosk provided a valuable amenity for the Killala community and we hope you have enjoyed availing of same.

“The Kiosk will close on Saturday, October 19th. We would ask anyone with vouchers to call in and use them prior to the close of business on the 19th.

“While we are unsure at present what the future holds for The Kiosk, we do hope that some day we will once again say meet at The Kiosk. Thank you once again for your support.”
