Storm Éowyn set to bring 'very concerning' weather conditions to Western areas

Storm Éowyn is set to batter Ireland later this week and 'severe' weather warnings are being issued for counties ahead of its arrival.
A Status Red Wind warning has been issued for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick from 3am to 10am on Friday, January 24, while a Status Orange Wind warning will be in place for the whole country from 2am. That weather warning is valid until 5pm on Friday.
Met Éireann says the storm will bring severe, damaging and destructive gusts of up to 130km/h widely, with even higher gusts for a time.
Meanwhile, popular social media weather enthusiast 'Carlow Weather' has warned that the latest HAMRONIE 6z high resolution weather model is very concerning, especially for Western areas, with gusts of 180kmh on the coast a possibility.
