Over the weekend, the Mayo Mountain Rescue team was called out by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman who had a fall while descending Croagh Patrick.
She'd started her climb with a friend and was most of the way down when she unfortunately injured her ankle. Unable to walk, her friend quickly called 999 for help.
The first response team was on the scene quickly, locating her on the track about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain. They provided immediate emergency care until their stretcher party arrived. The team then safely stretchered her to a waiting ambulance, which took her to Mayo University Hospital for further treatment.
Mayo Mountain Rescue send the very best wishes to the woman for a speedy and full recovery.
