A playground in South Mayo is in need of a facelift, according to a local councillor.
Ballinrobe-based Fine Gael Cllr Michael Burke told last week’s meeting of the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District that the playground in the town has become “very aged”.
The playground is located in Creagh beside Ballinrobe Athletics Club, Ballinrobe RFC and Ballinrobe Town AFC and it is “extremely well used”.
“I would ask that whatever way we do some funding that the playground does need upgrading. The equipment there is fairly dated and they have tried to keep it going but it’s not perfect and there is some equipment that needs changing,” Cllr Burke said.
