Scoil Bhreandáin National School in Belmullet is to receive funding for a long-awaited extension that will see the construction of two new mainstream classrooms. This extension will provide essential additional space for the school community, offering students and staff a modern, comfortable environment to support learning and growth.
Welcoming the news, Minister of State Alan Dillon said: “This is fantastic news for the students, parents, and staff of Scoil Bhreandáin NS. I know how important this extension is to the school and the wider community in Eachleim. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of the school leadership, who have been advocating tirelessly for improved facilities.
"Education is the foundation of our community, and projects like this ensure that our children have access to the best possible resources to thrive in their education. I am delighted to see the government’s commitment to investing in Mayo rural schools like Scoil Bhreandáin and in the future of our young people.”
Meanwhile, St Joseph's National School in Bonniconlon has also received approval for the construction of a mainstream classroom and a special educational needs (SEN) room. Minister of State Dara Calleary said he was delighted the project could now proceed to the tender stage.
