Roadworks on dangerous N5 junction in west set to begin

Work is set to begin on Tuesday, March 19 on the dangerous N5 junction in Frenchpark
Roadworks on a dangerous junction at Frenchpark in Roscommon are due to begin next week.
The junction, located on the N5 in the centre of the village, intersects the R361 Boyle to Castlerea road, and it has been the scene of multiple road traffic accidents.
The safety works in the village are due to commence next Tuesday, March 19 and they will continue for six weeks.
The roadworks will take place between Monday and Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane said it is is positive news for local people and the area.
She stated she is pleased that engagement with Roscommon County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has led to the project commencing.
