The incredible bravery of two Gardai involved in a Mayo cave rescue has been honoured. Inspector Joseph Finnegan and Sergeant Kieran Flynn have both received a bronze Scotts medal for their daring efforts during a sea cave rescue in Belderrig in 1997.

This substantial detached residence is located in Accony, just 6km from Louisburgh where all day to day amenities are available including primary and secondary schools.

Congratulations to their proud parents and families.

Gardaí would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

The yacht was located four miles north-west of Eagle Island off the North Mayo coast and approximately 14 nautical miles from the lifeboat station.
