Sad passing of gifted artist and musician

Mayo is mourning the loss of talented artist and musician John Mayock.
Mr Mayock, of Cunnagher, Ross, Castlebar, passed away unexpectedly at his home last week.
A hugely respected artist and a gifted musician, he was a former lecturer in fine art and visual art at Dublin Institution of Technology (DIT).
Predeceased by his father Paul and brother Gerard, he is deeply regretted by his heartbroken mother Maureen, sisters Paula, Breda and Emer, girlfriend Sinead Walsh, nephews and nieces Diarmuid, Lughaidh, Rosa, Louisa, Iosaf, Saoirse and Líadan, brothers-in-law Robbie Harris and Dónal Siggins, relatives, neighbour and friends.
"John made the world of difference to my time in college, he was so encouraging to us all and genuine. He really cared for all his students and none of us have forgotten that. A wonderfully unique man, he’ll be hugely missed,” read one tribute.
"He was a powerful presence at DIT school of Art & Design in Portland Row and Sherkin Island. An extremely talented artist and teacher with a huge heart and endless generosity, he was loved by us all, staff and students alike," another stated,
