No tickets for Croke Park? Here’s a Plan B

If you can’t get tickets for Sunday’s All-Ireland final, the Erris Agricultural Show could be a very good fallback option.
It is set to take place on Sunday at the Carne Air Strip in Belmullet. They will be showing the game on their big screen, with free parking, trade stands and displays for the whole family to enjoy.
Festival chairman, Ciaran Brett said: “The show celebrates our agricultural way of life, recognises local talent and brings people together from across Erris and beyond.” Brett, the committee, sponsors and volunteers are working hard to create ‘an occasion that so many look forward to each year’, while ‘building on the achievements of previous years’.
Gates will open at 7am and activities will then begin from 10am. The Committee are expecting large crowds and encourage people to arrive early. Avtivities include horse showjumping, farm animal classes, hot air balloon rides and sensory hour. The Western Strands Belmullet Bar Marquee will be offering a bar on site, for the first time ever, from 12pm.
Micheal English’s show is set to take place from 1-3pm as well as the much-loved dog show and several competitions. These include ‘Best Mullet in Belmullet’ and the ‘Best Dressed Mayo Person in the Marquee’. The rules are to dress up in all things Mayo for the day. Jiving competitions will be taking place catering for all ages with Little Mister and Miss winners announced for 3pm.
In addition to this, there will be food trucks, coffee shacks and free entertainment for children. Influencer Sammy TV is set to make an appearance to open the show. She’ll be chatting and taking pictures with fans for the day.
The Mayo match will kick off at 3.30pm, followed by Johnny Brady’s performance from 5-7pm and tunes from DJ Tiny at 7pm continuing late into the evening.
The large outdoor LED screens are expected to bring the electric atmosphere to the people of Erris and to recreate the scenes of being up in Croke Park. It is a day for the show to celebrate agriculture, family and sport as everyone at the Erris Agricultural Show will be roaring Mayo on.
