Conveniently located at the Texaco Service Station on the outskirts of Ballindine, the new charging hub features two 100kW high-power chargers allowing up to four EVs to charge at one time. The hub is equipped with contactless payment, ensuring a seamless and accessible charging experience for all EV drivers.
Commenting on the expansion, Sinéad Kilkelly, Executive Director, People and Sustainability, ESB said: “The N17 is a vital transport corridor connecting Galway, Mayo, Sligo and the wider northwest, and Ballindine’s position along this busy route makes it a key stopping point for drivers. By investing in EV charging infrastructure at strategic locations like this, we’re supporting a growing rural network that complements essential local amenities while making longer EV journeys more reliable, convenient, and accessible for those travelling between major towns and through smaller communities.”
