Mother who died ten days after road collision named locally

The woman who died yesterday at University Hospital Galway (UHG) following a road collision ten days previous has been named locally.
Irene Lynch, 34, who was a mother of two and from Athlone, Co Westmeath, died on Monday having been in a critical condition since the collision on Friday, March 15.
It is understood that she was pregnant at the time of the crash.
She was a passenger in the vehicle when the car collided with a wall before overturning in the village of Menlo on the outskirts of Galway City.
Ms Lynch was brought to UHG, and it was confirmed yesterday evening that she passed away.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was also brought to hospital at the time for injuries that were non-life threatening.
Predeceased by her infant daughter Lauren and her grandparents. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken son Daniel, daughter Isobel, parents Pat and Anne, sisters Dymphna, Marcella, Marina, and Naomi, brothers Pat, Stephen, and Breen, her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Menlo area of Galway city between 6am and 7am on Friday, March 15 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
