Minister to visit Ballina to launch new project

The Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien will be in Ballina next Monday for the official opening of the Creggs Road Active Travel Scheme.

The Active Travel route begins at the Mayo County Council Car Park on the Quay Road and ends at Quignamanger (The Quay) National School on Creggs Road.

The new active travel route has provided safer travel facilities for cyclists and pedestrians along this route, especially schoolchildren and their parents.

The project has included the provision of new footpaths following excavation works, new fencing, pedestrian crossings as well as new lighting and lighting upgrades.

The Minister will be in Ballina at 10am next Monday to cut the ribbon and officially open the scheme. While Minister for Housing in November 2023, the Fianna Fáil TD travelled to Ballina to officially open the 50-house Rehins Fort development and visit the Innovation Quarter.
