Mayo woman to make history by rowing the Arctic

Best wishes to former Manulla FC senior ladies player Orla Dempsey who will be undertaking a 1,500km row to the Arctic shelf as part of a scientific expedition - gathering samples and collecting vital data for climate change studies.
Manulla club, who are trying to be more environmentally friendly and promote this ethos as much as possible with members, feel this is fantastic and will bring awareness to climate change issues. It will also highlight and champion gender equality.
Orla will be the first woman in history to row the Arctic. With so many young female players and members in Manulla club, this is an important message for all.
