Mayo woman raising much-needed funds for spinal surgery

Margaret's struggle began almost two decades ago when she first started experiencing severe back pain.
A Mayo woman is raising much-needed funds to help with her battle with relentless spinal pain for nearly 20 years.
Margaret Deane Smith, known to all as Mags, hails from Glenamoy in the parish of Kilcommon in Co. Mayo and is an ardent supporter of her home club, CLG Chill Chomáin, as well as a passionate supporter of her beloved Mayo GAA football team.
Now living in Cavan, her local Lavey community have set up an iDonate page to raise the required funds in excess of €200,000 for a specialised surgical procedure for Margaret.
This surgery is the "best hope for relief and regaining a semblance of normality" for her condition, Sagittal Imbalance Kyphosis.
So far, just over €44,000 has been raised on the donation page.
