Mayo shows to benefit from new wave of funding

Ballina Show is among the recipients of funding from the department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has today announced an investment of over €1 million to support 126 Agricultural Shows right across the country, among which are nine in Co Mayo. 

Grants range from €4200 to €11400 depending on the size of the show.

"I wish all the show organisers every success for the year ahead and I look forward to seeing many of you as I visit them throughout the summer," said Minister Calleary.

Shows in Mayo receiving funding are:

Bonniconnlon Show €10,700; Erris Show €10,000; Ballina Show €9,200; Ballinrobe Show €9,200; Claremorris Show €9,200; Crossmolina Show €8,400; Swinford Show Society €8,400; Westport Horse & Pony Show €8,400; Louisburgh Horse & Pony Show €6,700.
