The RTÉ Radio 1 documentary has been shortlisted for an award at the Celtic Media Festival 2024 (June 4-6) - competing in the History (Sound) category.
The documentary, first broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 on September 2, 2023, was produced and directed by Orla Higgins and Sarah Blake.
A Dark Night in Foxford delves into the story of Mayo woman Maggie Doherty and the rarely discussed and uncomfortable aspect of sexual violence in the Irish Civil War in 1923.
Overall, eight nominations are competing for the award in Cardiff on Tuesday, June 4 with the ceremony taking place between 4pm and 5:30pm.
BBC Northern Ireland-produced is the only other nominee for the History (Sound) category from the island of Ireland.
