Yesterday, the Mayo Mountain Rescue team was called out by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman on Croagh Patrick.
She had been climbing the mountain for a long time with her adult daughter, and became unwell and couldn’t continue. Her daughter wisely called 999 for mountain rescue.
The first response team quickly located the woman on the track, approximately 10 minutes from the car park. They provided immediate emergency care and, after a brief rest, their volunteers helped her safely walk back to the car park.
Mayo Mountain Rescue send their best wishes to the woman for a speedy and full recovery.
