Mayo GAA club pays tribute to 'stalwart' following passing of former player

The late Seamus Harte of Lehinch, Hollymount, and formerly of Castlegar, Claremorris.

Claremorris GAA club paid tribute to a stalwart following his passing earlier this month.

The late Seamus Harte of Lehinch, Hollymount, and formerly of Castlegar, Claremorris, played for the South Mayo club in the 1950s and also played for his county at junior level in 1956.

Claremorris posted on social that Seamus was a club "stalwart" and that he "retained strong links with the club all down through the years and was a guest at various club nights."

Seamus, who was predeceased by his sister Bridie, will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, sons John (Manchester) and Declan (Balla), daughters-in-law Sally and Anita, granddaughters Sarah, Emma, Amy and Katie, cousin Mae Naughton, nieces Sandra and Cora, brother in law Frank, neighbours and friends.
