A Mayo-based company is set to launch a first-of-its-kind device this Friday in Castlebar.

GlobalVAM, which specialises in Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality experiences such as virtual tours and pre-loaded headsets catering for dementia patients, is launching SPINI (Supporting and Promoting Inclusion for Neurodiverse Individuals).

SPINI is a first-of-its-kind virtual vestibular unit featuring immersive virtual spaces used with an exclusive rotational sensory chair.

Creator Brian Lavelle, a native of Belmullet where GlobalVAM is headquartered and producing its devices, said they are excited to unveil their newest innovation.

“After listening to feedback from families, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to develop something new to the market,” he said.

“We’re keeping the details under wraps until after the launch event where we will explain how this affordable solution will be available within communities and how to order a domestic version plus a mobile version for journeys that will also be available immediately following the event.”

The launch event takes place this Friday, April 4, at Mayo County Library, Castlebar.
