Mayo community pedestrian crossings at early stage

Pedestrian crossings for Kilmaine and Shrule remain at an early stage in their development.
Last week, the Claremorris MD heard that on foot of a motion raised by Cllr Damien Ryan, an assessment of need for a pedestrian needs to be completed by the Mayo Roads Design Office.
“A request has been made to the Road Design Office to complete this assessment and the MD has provided assistance with the data collection. We await the reply,” said area engineer Conrad Harley in a written reply.
“Alternative transition zone treatments are being progressed by the MD should the assessment determine insufficient demand for a pedestrian crossing.”
