A Castlebar hair salon is backing the local Tidy Towns committee with a fundraising effort.
From Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31 all proceeds from the sale of wash and blow-dries at Hair by Tala donated to Castlebar Tidy Towns, a group of dedicated volunteers who tirelessly work to improve the environment in and around the county town.
On Saturday, August 1, staff will stage a pyjama party with donations towards Castlebar Tidy Towns.
Tidy Towns Committee members and regular clients of Hair by Tala, Ann Cresham and Marita Murtagh, said: “We wish this generous fundraising venture great success. Hair by Tala is one of several businesses who are incredibly supportive of our initiatives to improve the environmental quality of vibrant Castlebar.
“Castlebar Tidy Towns was set up in 1994 under the auspices of the Castlebar Chamber of Commerce and it has gone from strength to strength, thanks to the unflagging efforts of its volunteers, their family members and the community spirit which thrives in this much-loved, bustling town. Any donations from this fundraiser will be gratefully received and will help to make a real difference to our ongoing projects to make Castlebar a town to be proud of.” Salon owner Tala Frcek said: “We really urge the local community to support this worthy cause. Volunteers at Castlebar Tidy Towns are the unsung heroes who selflessly work long hours during all trying weather conditions such as the current heatwave, sharing their skills and knowledge to create a clean, beautiful environment which we can all enjoy.”
