Mayo All-Ireland winner welcomes Argentine ambassador to the county

The Argentine Ambassador to Ireland is visiting Mayo today.

Cian McHale, a member of Mayo’s All-Ireland winning side, was among a number of representatives who welcomed the Argentine Ambassador to the county.

Mayo County Council was honoured to welcome Argentine Ambassador Ana Laura Cachaza and Minister Nicolás Vidal to Áras an Chontae today.

Moy Davitts star McHale joined Leas Cathaoirleach Gerry Coyle and Chief Executive of Mayo County Council Kevin Kelly, and representatives from the Admiral Brown Society in welcoming the Ambassador.

Mayo and Foxford is proud of its links with the South American country. Foxford-born Admiral William Brown founded the Argentinian navy and helped the country gain independence from Spain.
