Over the weekend, the Mayo Mountain Rescue team was tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a man who became unwell on the summit cone of Croagh Patrick.
The first responders quickly located him halfway up the cone and provided emergency care. The Coast Guard was called, and Rescue 115 was dispatched. Meanwhile, the stretcher party and members of Westport Coast Guard made their way to the scene.
The Rescue 115 medic assessed the man and, with high-line support from the team, winched him aboard the helicopter for transport to Mayo University Hospital.
Mayo Mountain Rescue wished the man a full and speedy recovery.
