Swinford GAA Halloween Scary Walk 

The Swinford GAA Club House will host a scary walk on October 31 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Accompanied by a guide, groups of 30 will venture into the woods every 15 minutes. What they will encounter is yet to be seen, although some scares and some laughs are guaranteed.

After the spine-chilling journey through the woods, refreshments will be available in Swinford Community Centre alongside traditional Halloween games. The event is advertised as suitable for six to 18-year-olds. The price of admission is €10 per person and all proceeds will aid Swinford GAA.

Ballina Haunted House on the Hill 

Ardnaree Sarsfields GAA is proud to present Haunted House on the Hill at the Sean Duffy Community Centre. The haunted house will be open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 25, 26 and 27.

The Haunted House on the Hill is recommended for children ages 12 and up. However, the haunted house is not the only event presented by Ardnaree Sarsfields GAA. At 4 p.m. on October 26, The Sean Duffy Community Centre will be hosting Sensory Hour Saturday in partnership with Ballina Autism Friendly Town. Sensory Hour Saturday will be free and suitable for all ages. In addition, a matinee will take place at 3 p.m. on October 27. The matinee will cost €5 per person and is recommended for children ages four through 12.

Castlebar Horror in the Barracks 

The Castlebar Military Barracks will become a fright fest on October 25, 26 and 27.

A ticket for this spooky event costs €20. The event is in aid of various good causes: Mayo Autism Camp, Down Syndrome Mayo, Ballyheane AFC Pitch Development, Ballyheane Community Council, Breaffy LGFA, Castlebar Autism Friendly Town, Castlebar Community Clean Up, Castlebar Tidy Towns and Order of Malta.

Horror in the Barracks is also not suitable for children under 12 years of age. However, on October 27, accommodations will be made. Children under 12 will be permitted to attend if accompanied by an adult between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Ballycastle Halloween Walk 2024 

Another hair-raising Halloween walk will be taking place on October 28 in Ballycastle. Beginning at 7 p.m. at the Ballycastle Resource Centre, the walk will end in the community hall where there will be a disco and refreshments. All children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The walk and disco are both free, but donations are encouraged.

Crossmolina Nightmare on Church Street 

Nightmare on Church Street will set up shop in the Old Fire Station, Crossmolina, on October 26, 27, 30 and 31.

If you are brave enough, you will have to endure 10 haunted rooms connected by dark, winding corridors of suspense, live actors and special effects. The themed rooms include Fog Of Fear, The Morgue, The Texas Fear Farm, Clown Alley, The Scream Sensation and many more. Your ultimate goal is to escape the fire-faced killer that lurks in the back rooms of the old fire station.

Nightmare on Church Street is strictly restricted to those over the age of 12. Tickets cost €15.
