Under an affordable housing scheme, five new houses have hit the Mayo property market.

Five three-bed units on the Golf Course Road in Westport, Mayo, have been put up for sale by Mayo County Council. These homes are the first in a development of 50 houses expected to be completed this December.

The scheme responsible for the construction of this housing development is the Affordable Purchase Arrangement as set out in the Affordable Housing Act 2021 and the associated Housing Regulations legislation.

These homes are only available to first-time buyers. However, there are exceptions to this rule. Generally, all eligibility criteria of the scheme must be satisfied in order to purchase one of these houses.
