Crimecall to replay segment on missing Mayo woman tonight
Sandra Collins was 28 years old when she went missing from Killala on December 4, 2000. She was pregnant at the time and was last seen at approximately 11pm at the Country Kitchen premises on George’s Street.
This Monday night’s episode of Crimecall will feature a replay of a segment aired last January regarding missing Mayo woman Sandra Collins after its initial airing prompted a number of calls to the Garda hotline.
Sandra was 28 years old when she went missing from Killala on December 4, 2000. She was pregnant at the time and was last seen at approximately 11pm at the Country Kitchen premises on George’s Street.
At the time of her disappearance, Sandra was wearing black boots, black pants, a beige sleeveless top and a maroon/beige sleeveless fleece jacket. Her family have worked hard to ensure that her case remains in the spotlight ever since.
On the January 27 edition of Crimecall, a reconstruction of the events around the time of the last sighting of Sandra was aired, as well as an appeal from members of her family and following a number of calls to the Gardaí regarding the case following this, Crimecall decided to replay the segment on last night’s episode.
Sandra’s brother Patrick told the Western People that the Collins family were so grateful to anyone who got in contact with the Gardaí after the Crimecall episode featuring Sandra’s case first aired in January of this year.
“We are so thankful to anybody who picked up the phone and phoned the Gardaí after watching Crimecall. Any piece of information, even something that seemed insignificant, is a huge help to the Gardaí who continue to work closely with us to bring our sister home,” said Patrick.
“We are grateful to RTÉ and Crimecall for airing Sandra’s case once more,” he added.
Gardaí continue to investigate the case and regularly issue appeals for fresh information about Sandra’s disappearance, urging people who may once have been constrained by past loyalties to come forward with any information regarding the disappearance of Sandra.
