Council to hold civic reception in honour of All-Ireland champions

A civic reception for Mayo's All-Ireland winning footballers will be held by Mayo County Council on Friday, September 25th next, during which councillors will get to pay tribute to the players, coaching staff, officials and all others involved.
Cathaoirleach Cllr John Caulfield raised the matter at the September meeting of the local authority, proposing that the reception should be held later this month.
Cllr Alma Gallagher proposed that all council staff and volunteers who gave up their time on Sunday, July 26th, to set up the Mall in Castlebar and other areas for the public to view the match on a big screen should be invited to celebrate the occasion and this was agreed by members.
The reception will take place at the Museum of Country Life in Turlough Park.
