Connolly Motor Group invests €1m in new Volvo Cars Sligo dealership
Volvo Cars Sligo will initially operate from a temporary showroom while work progresses on a new permanent facility at Connolly Motor Group's Collooney campus.
Connolly Motor Group is investing €1 million in a new Volvo Cars Sligo dealership, further strengthening Volvo's presence across the West and North West of Ireland. The investment reinforces Connolly Motor Group's long-term commitment to the Volvo brand and follows the successful opening of Volvo Cars Galway in Ballybrit in 2023.
Volvo Cars Sligo will initially operate from a temporary showroom while work progresses on a new permanent facility at Connolly Motor Group's Collooney campus. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the permanent dealership will offer a Scandinavian-inspired retail environment across sales and aftersales, showcasing Volvo's latest retail concept and creating a seamless customer experience from purchase through to ownership.
The dealership will officially open this month, with a launch week beginning on Monday, 12 October and culminating in an open evening at the Collooney campus from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, 16th October.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore Volvo's electrified model range, including the all-electric EX60 and the newly refreshed XC60 Long Range Plug-in Hybrid.
Run by brothers Kevin and Neil Connolly, Connolly Motor Group employs 335 people across its outlets throughout the West and North West of Ireland, including 85 employees in Sligo.
Volvo Cars Sligo is the group's second Volvo dealership and marks another milestone in its growing partnership with Volvo Car Ireland, further strengthening the brand's presence across the region while maintaining a focus on delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
Co-owner and Director of Connolly Motor Group, Neil Connolly, said: "Connolly Motor Group is delighted to welcome Volvo customers to Sligo this month. Our €1 million investment in a new state-of-the-art showroom at our Collooney campus demonstrates our commitment not only to growing the Volvo brand in the region, but also to ensuring our customers receive a premium experience in keeping with Volvo's high standards and international reputation.
"We look forward to welcoming customers to our temporary showroom in Collooney while work continues on our new permanent Volvo Cars facility."
Alan Cowley, Managing Director of Volvo Car Ireland, said: "We are delighted to reaffirm our partnership with Connolly Motor Group through Volvo Cars Sligo. The new dealership strengthens our presence in the North West and makes it easier for customers across the region to experience the Volvo brand at an exciting time for the company, as we continue to expand our range of electric and electrified vehicles.
"Connolly Motor Group has already demonstrated through Volvo Galway that it shares our commitment to delivering the high standards of service associated with the Volvo brand, and we look forward to building on that relationship in Sligo."
