Mayo County Council has congratulated the incoming Cathaoirleach and Leas-Cathaoirleach after their appointments.
Today's county council AGM, which had the formation of the new council from 2024 to 2029, elected Cllr. John O'Hara as Cathaoirleach and Cllr. Brendan Mulroy as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the coming year.
Fine Gael councillor O'Hara was recently re-elected to the county council by topping the Ballina electoral area poll while Fianna Fáil councillor Mulroy retained his seat in the Westport electoral area following this month's local elections.
Both were unanimously appointed.
The AGM of Mayo County Council took place today with the formation of the new Council for 2024-2029.
