"Blown away by the kindness": Community rallies behind Ballina man who needed emergency brain surgery

The Ballina community and beyond has rallied behind a young man who had to undergo emergency brain surgery.
Over 200 donations have been made to a fundraiser raising nearly €9,000 so far for 26-year-old Cian Cawley, whose family has been thrown in an unimaginably difficult situation when Cian became critically unwell.
He is currently under specialist care with further treatment and a long and uncertain road to recovery ahead of him.
His cousin Rachel, who set up the fundraiser on GoFundMe as a means to support Cian's parents Mona and Baz and his young siblings through this frightening experience, said the family have been blown away by the support for the fundraiser and by the kind messages they have received.
"Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated and supported Cian so far. We are honestly blown away by the kindness and support shown over the last few days. It means more than you know to Cian and all the family. Thank you all so much," she said.
