Man with Mayo roots called up to Republic of Ireland senior squad for first time

John Joe Patrick Finn, who has roots in the Mayo town of Ballyhaunis, has been called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad for the first time.
The 21-year-old midfielder transferred to Ligue 1 side Stade Reims in January after impressing during his time with La Liga outfit Getafe CF.

The former Real Madrid youth prospect has made 12 league appearances in the French top-flight to date, including a 30-minute cameo in his team's home loss to AS Saint-Étienne last weekend.
Patrick Finn's Mayo connection comes through his father, who hailed from Devlis, Ballyhaunis.
The talented youngster is among four new call-ups for the Boys in Green as they gear up to face Senegal and Luxembourg in friendly fixtures during the June international window.
