Renault 5 E-Tech wins major European award

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric has won the European Car of the Year.
Renault 5 E-Tech electric and Alpine A290 have been awarded ‘Car of the Year 2025’ by the European Car of the Year jury.
The result was announced at a ceremony organised by the European COTY jury at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium earlier this month.
It represents a double for Renault following the victory of the Scenic E-Tech electric in 2024 and a major first for Alpine.
In the first round of voting last November, Renault 5 E-Tech electric, which entered jointly with Alpine A290, was one of seven finalists alongside Alfa Romeo Junior, Citroen e-C3/C3, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Hyundai Inter and Kia EV3.
The winning duo was chosen by 60 motoring journalists from 23 countries.
The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the eighth Renault vehicle to claim the title.
This award recognises the group’s electrification strategy as well as the relevance and quality of the new Renault and Alpine models.
