Zero-waste dining on the menu for upcoming Ballina Climate Weekend

Comedian Diane O'Connor will use humour to get Ballina audiences thinking about the climate conversation.

Everyone is invited to dine with a difference or to have a laugh as part of this weekend’s Ballina Climate Action Weekend.

The third annual Ballina Climate Action Weekend will see the green-conscious event once again bringing some unusual angles to climate action. Taking place on Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25, some festival highlights are sure to capture the imaginations of locals as well as challenge attendees to think differently about the important topic of climate change.

On Friday, November 24, chef Ronan Fox will guide diners through a zero-waste dining experience, showcasing foods that are seasonal, sustainable, and with a low carbon footprint. Diners will learn how to minimise food waste and create mouthwatering meals at home.

The Accidental Activist, comedian Diane O’Connor’s climate action-themed show, will be staged on Saturday, November 25, in the stunning surroundings of the Stables at Belleek Castle.

Diane’s show takes the emotions of the climate conversation and its challenging themes and shares her story of becoming an activist, with plenty of laughs along the way.

There are lots more events taking place as part of Ballina’s Climate Action Weekend, including funding workshops, a swap shop, tree planting, and a circular economy showcase.

Tickets for the Zero Waste Pop-Up Dining Experience and the Accidental Activist and full details of the programme are available on www.maryrobinsoncentre.ie.
