Enjoy a night of music, laughter, and 90s nostalgia you won’t want to miss which will be staged on November 13, 14 and 15.

Results of the most recent Golf Club Development Draw: €1000 was won by Marie and Brendan Fallon, €300 by Kevin Feeney and €200 by Susanne Cronnolly. The next draw will take place on Saturday, November 8, in the clubhouse.
Swinford FC had a lot to celebrate in recent weeks with many Swinford players receiving recognition for their skills. Congratulations are extended to Megan Nolan named in the Mayo Women’s League U19 Team of the Year; congratulations also to Cian Forkan and Evan Kelly who have both been selected for the Mayo School Boys/Girls U14 Inter League Teams. A massive well done to Amy Dunleavy and Melissa Devaney both named in the Mayo Women’s Premier Division Team of the Year 2025. Melissa Devaney was named joint Golden Boot winner with Louise Dowling of Castlebar Town FC in the Eco Powered Cabinets Mayo Women's Premier Division with 10 goals each. Congratulations to players, coaches, families and all involved.
The numbers drawn in the Swinford Community Lotto draw held on October 28 were; 10, 13, 14 and 26. There was no jackpot winner. €70 vouchers were won by David Langford, Killasser and Nicola Maloney, Callow. The jackpot is now €9,000.
Results from Thursday, October 23 are as follows; card winners: 1st Josie Prendergast and Helen Gallogly, 2nd prize was shared between Brian McNulty, Peter Geraghty, Carmel Timoney, Ronan Monaghan, Esther Munnelly, Gerry Ronayne, Mary Lynskey and Michael Lynskey.

As part of a new diocesan initiative the Parochial House, Swinford will host a scripture group from 8 to 9pm on six consecutive Wednesdays commencing Wednesday, November 5. Meetings will embrace learning and prayer. Everyone welcome.
The November Prayer Service for members of the parish community who have died since November 2024 will take place in Swinford Church on Friday, November 14 at 7.30pm. A candle for each member of the community whose funeral took place in the parish since November 2024 will be lit and carried to the altar by a family member or friend. If anyone would like to have a family member whose funeral took place elsewhere in the past year remembered at the service please give the name of the person who died and the month in which they died to Fr Dermot, Fr Clement or to Francie in the parish office before Monday, November 10 to ensure a candle is prepared for that person.
As part of the remembering and praying for the dead in the month of November the rosary will be recited in Kilconduff Cemetery on Sunday, November 9, at 1pm; in Meelick Cemetery on Sunday, November 16, at 3.30pm; in Midfield Cemetery on Sunday, November 23 at 3.30pm; in Kinaffe Cemetery on Sunday, November 23 at 4.15pm and in the Workhouse Cemetery on Dublin Road on Sunday, November 16 at 1pm.

Durkan Bohola Community Park has been awarded €27,000 from the First Choice Credit Union Community Fund. This incredible support will go towards installing solar panel lighting along Micksey’s Way, helping make the park safer, more sustainable, and accessible for everyone — day and night. The committee are hopeful that these works will be completed before Christmas (contractors permitting) just in time to light up the community for the festive season.

Fr Joseph will celebrate a Novena of Masses for your deceased relatives and friends included in the November lists for the dead. Envelopes are available at the churches. There will be a Service for the Dead, on Sunday, November 16 , at 7pm in Kilmovee Church praying for those who have died since November 2024. Contact Fr. Kilmovee Parent and Toddler Group meet each Tuesday from 10-12pm in Kilmovee Community Centre. All parents, grandparents, carers and toddlers are welcome to attend for a chat, play and coffee. It’s a great place to meet for a chat.

The management of Kilmovee Community Centre are looking for volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels to residents in their own homes. Kilmovee Parents Association are delighted to announce the recommencement of the Deposit Return Scheme Fundraising Initiative for Kilmovee NS for the 2025/26 school year. Thanks to all members of our community for donating their bottles last year to help them achieve their goal. Plastic bottles and aluminium cans with the Return logo can be dropped into the School Return bin, which will be placed inside the school gate at the bus drop-off point every Monday between 9.15am and 2.15pm.
